Kenya Kifaru lot is a distinguished blend, bringing together the finest qualities from three prominent factories in Kenya: Kahuro, Kagumo, and Mugaya. Each factory, situated in different parts of the country, contributes unique characteristics to this exceptional coffee. Kagumo Factory is located in Kirinyaga County, at the foothills of Mount Kenya. This region is known for its rich history and stunning landscapes, with Mount Kenya’s snow-capped peaks, locally called Kirinyaga or “the crest of whiteness,” dominating the horizon. Part of the Mutira Farmers Cooperative Society, established in 1951, Kagumo is one of six factories under the cooperative, supporting farmers from the Mutira and Kanyekiini areas to produce high-quality coffee. With an intense combination of red currant, vanilla, and floral notes, this coffee from Kahuro, Kagumo, and Mugaya offers a berry profile that will captivate your senses. Kahuro Factory, in Nyeri County, lies about 150 kilometers north of Nairobi. The name “Nyeri” comes from the Kikuyu term “Kia-Nyiri,” referencing a central hill in the region. Kahuro is part of the New Gikaru Farmers Cooperative Society, founded in 1971 during Kenya’s coffee farming boom. This cooperative includes five factories, all crucial in processing coffee cherries from numerous small-scale farmers.
